1/26/2022 0 Comments Earlier Draft NotesMY SWITCH TO RIOT VAN I've made another change to my project, as I feel that it would be much better (and easier) to work around a different songs' lyrics in comparison to Everlong. Because of this, I have chosen to change my Music Video's song to Riot Van, by Arctic Monkeys. The song allows me to make my Music Video much more narrative driven rather than live performance. Trying to work around Live Performance has costed me too much time and effort, and as the deadline for this project nears closer and closer, I feel that I have to make a change in plans. With Riot Van, I feel I can do a lot more outdoor filming around the streets and suburbs (which is useful as that's where I live). I will also film the music video in a way that makes the viewer feel like they're part of the main characters story, through filming with a moving handheld camera rather than a static tripod camera. The music video will be set during the night, and I will have more people acting within my project. There will be people acting as teenagers on a night out (these will be the band's members), and there will also be people acting as policemen who apprehend the unruly teenagers (these will either be adults, such as my parents, or other students at my school. I feel that Riot Van is essentially a story from Alex Turner, about a fun night out which escalates into them being arrested and beaten down by the police. The fact that the songs lyrics are structured in a way which clearly states what's happening within each part of the song mean that I can personify the song effectively and create an atmosphere which I feel accurately depicts what Alex Turner was thinking about when producing the song. The good thing about switching from Everlong to Riot Van is, since both Arctic Monkeys and Foo Fighters are alternative rock bands, I don't need to alter too much of my existing work. An existing music video for Riot Van will be posted below.

1/15/2022 0 Comments 7/12/2021After further reconsideration, I've changed my project for my Music Video once again, as I'm unable to acquire people to perform the necessary scenes (as the theatre location is book, or the cast members are busy every time I try to film). Because of this, I will now be making a Music Video based off of Black Eyed Peas' "Where is The Love". This is useful as the song links back to existing conflict and social issues, which means that I can use existing footage to give better insight into the purpose of the video. This also means that I am able to answer my CCR questions in a better quality, as the Music Video now directly links to social groups and issues, and subsequently engages with the audience as well. I have constructed the main structure for my video so far, including all of the footage which I plan to use within the Music Video, blank spaces are where I still need to acquire actors to perform for the video. The first draft will be included in a button link, and the actual music video for "Where is the Love will be posted below". 11/22/2021 0 Comments 22/11/2021 (VERY IMPORTANT)Due to multiple reasons, such as improving the ease of producing my Music Video, as well as the ease of getting members together for filming, I have made a massive change for my Music Video's plan. I will now be doing the acoustic version of Everlong rather than the original one, as the original song contains a full band *including drummers, multiple guitarists, etc.*. However the acoustic solely contains guitar audio and vocals, meaning getting cast members for filming will be much easier, and there is less chance for mistakes to be made. A button which links to all of my footage will be posted below, and a video containing the actual acoustic version of Everlong will be posted below. 11/22/2021 0 Comments 18/11/2021A major amount of filming has been done, however constant changes in who's able to turn up for filming has made the production of the music video somewhat difficult. We've also had to redo the intro sequence as well as other parts of the music video, as people arrived in different clothing.
11/17/2021 0 Comments 13/11/2021I've made a draft edit for the opening sequence into my music video. I'm not sure if I'll keep this as the final intro as I feel it looks pretty rough and unfinished, however I also feel that the grunge style of the video makes it clear to the viewer about my Indie-dominant style.
11/10/2021 0 Comments Behind The Scenes 10/11/2021Following the scenes shot at the boat, we came up with an idea to have the lead singer green-screened over one of the recordings (but in a way which makes it look like he's obviously been placed there with green screen). There is behind the scenes footage of setting up the camera as well as getting the shots done for the project. Since the only useful shots I got were videos, I've added another link that directs to a folder containing all of the videos.
11/10/2021 0 Comments Behind The Scenes 07/11/2021Because all of the shots that were done on this day were videos, I've linked a button that gives access to the footage we've recorded. Filming on the boat was a relatively straight forward task, however we did get seasick from all the salt water we accidentally inhaled while doing the jump shots into the water. NOTE: I may bin all of this footage as one of the members wasn't present for the recording, which messes with the continuity of my video.
11/2/2021 0 Comments Behind The Scenes 02/11/2021A couple scenes and shots from scenes were shot, however today was mostly more of an experimental introduction onto what possible styles and angles we could shoot in order to produce an awesome music video. We tested out multiple different camera shots with the lighting in order to see where there was too much glare and where the lens flare made the shot even better than before.
