1/26/2022 0 Comments Earlier Draft NotesMY SWITCH TO RIOT VAN I've made another change to my project, as I feel that it would be much better (and easier) to work around a different songs' lyrics in comparison to Everlong. Because of this, I have chosen to change my Music Video's song to Riot Van, by Arctic Monkeys. The song allows me to make my Music Video much more narrative driven rather than live performance. Trying to work around Live Performance has costed me too much time and effort, and as the deadline for this project nears closer and closer, I feel that I have to make a change in plans. With Riot Van, I feel I can do a lot more outdoor filming around the streets and suburbs (which is useful as that's where I live). I will also film the music video in a way that makes the viewer feel like they're part of the main characters story, through filming with a moving handheld camera rather than a static tripod camera. The music video will be set during the night, and I will have more people acting within my project. There will be people acting as teenagers on a night out (these will be the band's members), and there will also be people acting as policemen who apprehend the unruly teenagers (these will either be adults, such as my parents, or other students at my school. I feel that Riot Van is essentially a story from Alex Turner, about a fun night out which escalates into them being arrested and beaten down by the police. The fact that the songs lyrics are structured in a way which clearly states what's happening within each part of the song mean that I can personify the song effectively and create an atmosphere which I feel accurately depicts what Alex Turner was thinking about when producing the song. The good thing about switching from Everlong to Riot Van is, since both Arctic Monkeys and Foo Fighters are alternative rock bands, I don't need to alter too much of my existing work. An existing music video for Riot Van will be posted below.
